Little steps, hood weather stripping and steering wheel

Hello Folks,

A slow day in the garage, other chores and appointments got in the way, suspect that tomorrow and Thursday will be the same-sorry....

Finished the hood weatherstripping today.

Finished sanding the steering wheel this morning and have been applying coats of 'spar varnish' to it this afternoon.  The instructions read that a new coat must be applied within 1.5 hours of wait 72 hours, I'm on #5 with # 6 coming up in a little bit.

Have been looking through some of my stuff and I think I might have enough hoses for the brakes and cooling system, Yeah!

Well folks, that about it for today, thanks for your interest and I'll try to pick up the pace.
Cheers,

Lynn

  1. Wheel looks gorgeous. Thinking about it again (it's been a while) I must have done all the coats within the specified time, let it dry and then started the final sanding later. I followed the directions on the can.

    1. Hi Drew,
Excellent, I'm going to let it dry till tomorrow (Friday) then use very fine sand paper, 1500 grit and see how it looks. Might have to re-coat it but that's OK.
      Thanks for the comment!
      Cheers,
      Lynn

    2. I think the first time out I sanded mine too much and, as you know, it doesn't hurt if the finish is somewhat thick. The final polishing really enhanced the smooth finish.
